Patrons repeatedly praise Sultan for its fresh ingredients and the authenticity radiating from every bite. Max Thompson raved about the silky, savory eggplant Saksuka, admitting that the flavor was so compelling it tempted even a devoted meat eater to reorder a vegetarian dish for dinner. Rob Fosdyck was delighted by the distinct, memorable flavors of dishes enhanced by unexpected touches like pomegranate in the rice, which brought a refreshing twist to his meal. Guests like Haris H and FrzNsr highlight the recent renovation, noting how the restaurant’s inviting ambiance and attentive service enhance the overall dining experience, making every visit special.
Don’t leave without indulging in Sultan’s desserts — Anna Nazarevska was absolutely smitten with the pistachio custard and vanilla custard, describing them as “on another level” and worth taking home to savor longer. These sweet finales perfectly round out a dining experience that feels both indulgent and heartwarming.

Very good Mediterranean food / Indian food place. The Saksuka (eggplant appetizer) was TOO DIE FOR. I’m a meat guy and I loved it so much I wish I would’ve ordered an eggplant dish for dinner!
The food was excellent!!! I was able to taste the flavors of the dish distinctly which was an unexpected delight! I had never had pomegranate in a rice dish and the addition of pomegranate gave a refreshing touch to the dish. Service was good. The staff made sure that we had what we needed and didn't leave us too long without checking in. Our server was also able to help recommend dishes if there were allergy concerns. The wait was about 20minutes on a Sunday at noon, but their system sent a notification via text and my party was able to take a walk to pass the time since there was little space to wait inside. The dining area was split into two locations which did make it feel a little crowded. Also, expect the conversation to get loud because the ceiling was high and there wasn't much for dampening. It is an old building, and they tend to reverberate sounds efficiently.
We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Sultan Mediterranean Restaurant in St. Louis. The place offers authentic Middle Eastern flavors with fresh, delicious dishes and generous portions. The service was attentive throughout our meal. Overall, a great spot for tasty Mediterranean food and a satisfying dining experience.
Sultan Mediterranean Restaurant just reopened after completing a full renovation, and the transformation is impressive. You can immediately tell a lot of care went into creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The food was exceptional fresh ingredients, rich flavors, and generous portions. Every dish tasted thoughtfully prepared, and you could really sense the authenticity in the recipes. From the appetizers to the main courses, everything came out perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. The service was just as memorable. The wait staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about our dining experience. It’s clear this is a family owned restaurant, and that personal pride shows through in both the hospitality and the quality of the food. Overall, Sultan Mediterranean is absolutely worth a visit whether you’re a longtime fan or trying it for the first time. The renovation has breathed new life into the space, and the combination of great food and heartfelt service makes it a standout dining experience. Highly recommended!
I seriously enjoyed the food — it was absolutely incredible! The saffron curry, lamb chops, baba ganoush… and the DESSERTS! That pistachio dessert was on another level. We were so impressed, we took a few more to go — just to keep the magic going a little longer.
Overrated. Their Biryani is the worst, and there are very few meat chunks available. Their kebab plates have a moderate taste, but their pistachio custard has a great taste. I hope they will improve their food taste. I appreciate their halal items. I hope they maintain strict halal.
If you’re looking for an amazing Mediterranean restaurant, this is the place to go. The moment you walk in, you can feel the difference — newly renovated, elegant, and giving off true five-star restaurant vibes without the five-star prices. The customer service is outstanding; everyone is friendly, attentive, and makes you feel genuinely welcome. The food? Absolutely incredible. The beef kabob is hands-down the best I’ve ever had — tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. But honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Every dish is fresh, seasoned beautifully, and served with care. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout, this spot delivers top quality every single time. Highly recommend!
Sultan Mediterranean Restaurant has been a favorite of mine for years, and their recent remodel has taken the experience to a whole new level. The upgrade is truly outstanding. From the beautifully redesigned dining area to the spotless, modern bathrooms and the impressive new dessert bar, every corner of the restaurant has been elevated with care and taste. The food, as always, is exceptional. Sultan continues to serve authentic Middle Eastern cuisine with flavors that transport you straight to the Kurdish region of Iraq. Every dish is thoughtfully prepared, and the quality speaks for itself. What sets Sultan apart just as much as the food is the people behind it. The owners and staff deliver top-notch customer service and treat every guest like family. They are genuine, warm, and deeply committed to sharing their culture through incredible cuisine. If you haven’t visited recently, the remodel is the perfect reason to return—but the food and hospitality will keep you coming back. Highly recommend.
